Radio-Chaud: A 21st Edition Full of Color and Talent
The 21 st edition of Radio-Chaud was a resounding success, showcasing the artistic richness and
talent of students from the Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord. More than 90 young artists from seven
high schools, from Noëlville to Longlac, including Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Dubreuilville, and Marathon, lit
up the stage with original creations. The Grand Finale, held on May 15 th at the Fraser Auditorium at
Laurentian University, offered the audience an unforgettable evening filled with passion, creativity,
and energy.
These students took part in workshops led by industry professionals, immersing them in both the
musical and promotional aspects of the arts. Each school created an original song reflecting the
uniqueness and diversity of its community, a project driven by passion and imagination.
Musically, each school not only wrote an original piece but also prepared a cover of a well-known
song. All this was done under the guidance of Jacques Grylls, an experienced musician and former
music teacher at École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier. Both pieces were then recorded in a
professional studio, providing students with a real-world music production experience.
On the promotional side, students explored the world of multimedia by creating posters and videos
related to their group and original song. With the help of experts, they learned how to use graphic
design and video production tools. They also took part in planning and broadcasting the finale online,
discovering the technical and promotional processes behind their creative work.
The students also benefited from the support of industry professionals, including Ponteix, Jacques
Grylls, and a technical team who provided personalized guidance to help each participant thrive. At
the same time, Bill Sanders, Dunstan Topp, Jenn Herd, Joël Ducharme, and Aline Fablet oversaw
every aspect of promotional content creation, from photography and lighting to technical direction
management.
The Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord would like to thank the members of the cultural animation team
who worked closely with the students to ensure the success of this wonderful project.
Radio-Chaud goes far beyond a music event: it’s a true platform that empowers young people to
grow, express themselves, and thrive artistically.
