École publique des Pins Blancs in Blind River Inaugurates New Facilities!

Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord proudly celebrated the official inauguration of the new building for École publique des Pins Blancs in Blind River today. Now located at 158 Youngfox Road, the school leaves its former location at 147 Woodward Avenue to settle into modern, safe facilities designed to meet the needs of the Francophone community.

A Modern Space Rooted in Its Community

As École publique des Pins Blancs enters its 6th year, this relocation marks the start of an exciting new chapter for student learning and development from Kindergarten to Grade 8.

In addition to its new facilities, École publique des Pins Blancs stands out for the quality and richness of its educational programming. Certified Platinum by EcoSchools Canada, the school demonstrates an exemplary environmental commitment. It also offers engaging experiential learning programs, enabling students to build skills in a concrete, active, and real-world environment.

Highlights of the Ceremony

The ceremony brought together several regional dignitaries, including Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman and Manitoulin-Algoma MPP Bill Rosenberg. To mark the official opening, a commemorative plaque was presented to students Kendall MacLeod (Grade 5) and Lennon Gionette (Grade 1). The highlight of the event took place when school administration, board leadership, dignitaries, and students joined together for the traditional ribbon-cutting, followed by a guided tour of the brand-new facilities for the Blind River community.
