 Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord Appoints A New School Trustee

Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO) approved the appointment of a new school trustee, Mr. Gouled Hassan for the City of Greater Sudbury (wards 1 and 4).

Mr. Hassan is a project coordinator at Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury. As a management professional, he has had the opportunity to work as a project manager for the Northeast at the Ontario Arts Council and Laurentian University and as an international admissions officer at Cambrian College.

At the community level, Mr. Hassan is involved in various committees related to the promotion of diversity, such as La Coalition des noirs francophones de l’Ontario, the University of Sudbury Governance Council and the AFO MREF Advisory Committee. He has also served on several committees as a member of the Francophone Advisory Board of Health Horizon North, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of ACFO of Greater Sudbury, a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Sudbury Training and Development Centre, and a member of the Governance Council of Pathways to Prosperity: Canada.

For more than twenty years, Mr. Hassan has invested his energy and passion in initiatives based on values such as inclusion, multiculturalism, innovation and accountability. Mr. Hassan is a strong advocate for racialized people and their integration into Canadian society. His beliefs can be summed up as follows: be yourself, go beyond your limits, be open to others and support those at risk.
