October 8, 2025

Hanmer, October 8, 2025 – The Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord is proud to announce the great success of the 2025 Grand Nord Soccer Cup, held on September 30, October 1, and October 3 at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre in Hanmer.

This year’s edition brought together more than 1,000 francophone students, divided among 66 teams from Parry Sound, French River, and the Sudbury area. The young athletes from Grades 3 to 8 demonstrated not only their passion for soccer but also their teamwork, perseverance, and francophone pride.

“The Grand Nord Soccer Cup allows our students to live a rewarding experience that combines sport, friendship, and francophone culture. We are extremely proud of the commitment and talent of our young people,” said Alain Prévost, tournament organizer and staff member at École publique Hélène-Gravel. He added, “A big thank-you to all the coaches and parents for their involvement!”

The Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord also warmly thanks the organizing committee, as well as all volunteers and partners whose dedication made this tournament possible.

Beyond the results, this sporting event remains a celebration of francophone youth in Northern Ontario and a unique opportunity to bring school communities together through sport.
