New school principal in Elliot Lake

The Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Dominique Jean as principal of École publique des Villageois and École secondaire Villa Française des Jeunes in Elliot Lake. Ms. Jean will assume her new duties on August 1st, 2024.

Ms. Jean holds an Specialized Bachelor in Music Therapy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Ottawa. She has over 20 years’ experience in education, and has been a teacher at École secondaire Villa Française des Jeunes since 2008.

Throughout her career, Ms. Jean has demonstrated commitment and leadership in creating a teaching environment that fosters inclusion, equity and growth. Her pedagogical strategies focused on cooperative discovery, collaborative problem-solving, building resilience and integration of the arts have enabled her to develop innovative practices focused on student success.

CS Grand Nord is delighted to welcome Ms. Jean to her new role. Her passion and her many years of experience in the education field will be an asset to the school. Thanks to her energy and interpersonal skills, Ms. Jean will be able to offer a positive and dynamic environment where each individual finds his or her place to flourish and grow.

Ms. Jean will succeed Christian Giroux, who will be heading to École de la Rivière-des-Français in Noëlville as principal. CS Grand Nord would like to thank Mr. Giroux for his work and wish him every success at his new school.
