Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord Nominates New Superintendent of Education

At its special meeting held via video conference on Monday, January 31, 2022, the Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario approved the nomination of Mrs. Norma Saad to the position of Superintendent of Education at Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord.

Ms. Saad is currently the Principal of l’École secondaire catholique Renaissance in Aurora. Throughout her career, she has worked as a facilitator, teacher, vice-principal and principal at both the elementary and secondary levels. In recent years, she has been responsible for opening an intermediate school and managing two different campuses simultaneously.

Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Saad has had the privilege of discovering and accompanying leaders of great diversity to promote the French language and culture. In collaboration with staff, she has supervised a team focused on providing ongoing individualized support to special needs students. She has facilitated and valued the development of staff technology skills to positively impact student learning and achievement during this critical time.

Mrs. Saad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Cairo University in Egypt and a Master’s degree in Education from Canisius College in New York.  Ms. Saad will begin her new position on March 21st.

With her knowledge of the education community, professionalism, collaborative leadership and effective management skills, Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord is confident that Ms. Saad will fit well with the board’s dynamic team and will carry out projects that focus on the development and success of each student and the continued success of Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord.
