Sébastien Fontaine holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Université Laval, a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Education from Université de Montréal and a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from St. Boniface University in Winnipeg.

Currently, Mr. Fontaine is the Interim Director of Education for the Conseil scolaire Viamonde.  Since the beginning of his career, he has worked as a superintendent of education, principal, vice-principal, educational consultant and teacher at the secondary and adult education levels.

Throughout his career, Mr. Fontaine has had the opportunity to work on many important issues. He has set up a program of excellence at the secondary level, guided a team in the implementation of new teaching programs and practices, worked closely with union units, parents and the community, and coordinated innovative strategies for schools, students and staff. Mr. Fontaine has also developed a professional coaching practice with employees and has acted as a mentor and coach to new superintendents.

With his extensive knowledge of the education community and his sustained leadership experience, CSPGNO is confident that Mr. Fontaine will fit in well with the CSPGNO family and will bring a unique perspective and a valuable contribution to the dynamism of the entire team.

Over the next few months, Mr. Marc Gauthier, Director of Education and Secretary of the Board, will work closely with Mr. Fontaine to ensure a smooth transition, in line with the values and mission of CSPGNO. In April 2022, Mr. Marc Gauthier will begin his vacation and then retire. At that time, Mr. Fontaine will officially assume the position of Director of Education and Secretary of the Board.

CSPGNO is pleased to welcome Mr. Fontaine as the Associate Director of Education.
