A Third Consecutive Recognition for a Student from École secondaire Cité-Supérieure
March 3, 2026
Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord is extremely proud to announce that Aspen Law, a Grade 12 student at École secondaire Cité-Supérieure in Marathon, has won the Regional Student Achievement Award “2Gether > 1 (Better Together Than Alone)” in the Prose and Poetry division for the Algoma region, presented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO).
This marks Aspen’s third recognition through this program, having previously been named regional winner in 2024 and 2026, as well as provincial winner in 2025.
The 2026 theme, “2Gether > 1 (Better Together Than Alone),” invited students to reflect on the strength of the collective, the importance of solidarity, and the power of collaboration. Through their submissions, participants were encouraged to explore how mutual support, unity, and teamwork help overcome challenges and build stronger, more inclusive communities.
This recognition highlights Aspen’s exceptional journey, the consistency of her commitment, and the excellence of her artistic work. Year after year, she stands out for the quality of her writing, the depth of her reflection, and her ability to express her ideas with creativity, authenticity and sensitivity.
Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord also wishes to thank Ms. Nancy Blais, the school secretary, for her support in preparing and submitting Aspen’s contest application. Congratulations to Aspen on this remarkable achievement, and we wish her continued success in her future endeavors.
