Two New Student Trustees for the 2025-2026 School Year
The election of student trustees Ryan Cloutier and Régis Desrochers took place during a videoconference meeting attended by candidates and the General Associations of Students (AGE) from secondary schools.
Ryan Cloutier and Régis Desrochers are two exceptional young leaders who have demonstrated impressive commitment in their respective schools. Their dedication and energy make them perfect choices to represent their peers at the Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord Board meetings.
Ryan Cloutier, a grade 10 student at École secondaire Villa Française des Jeunes in Elliot Lake, has always been a model of commitment. He actively participates in various school activities, whether in clubs, events, or community initiatives. His leadership and ability to listen to his peers make him an excellent candidate to represent students. Ryan is not only committed to his studies, but he is also involved in projects aimed at improving school life and fostering an inclusive and dynamic environment for all. His enthusiasm and strong motivation in education will enable him to do an excellent job representing the students at the Board meetings.
On the other hand, Régis Desrochers, a grade 11 student at École secondaire de la Rivière-des-Français in Noëlville, is also an example of commitment. He stands out through his active participation in provincial organizations, school events, his ability to mobilize his peers, and defend their interests. Régis is always attentive to his peers and constantly seeks ways to improve learning and school life conditions for everyone. His commitment to promoting a harmonious and respectful school environment, as well as his ability to work with his teammates, makes him a leader dedicated to the interests of his peers.
As part of their mandates, the student trustees will participate in all public and in-camera deliberations of the Board. The student trustees will also report to the Board on activities taking place in the secondary schools of the Board after communicating with the liaison students from their respective schools.
Their mandate begins in August 2025.
