The Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Josée Tremblay as principal of École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier (ESMC).

Ms. Tremblay’s career in teaching began in 1999 at ESMC, where she is presently vice-principal. Her knowledge of current issues, High Skills Major programs and specialized courses is extensive. Her familiarity with the school’s staff and students, whose trust she has earned over the years, is a huge asset to the school’s community.

Ms. Tremblay has a Bachelor of Education from Laurentian University with specializations in mathematics, science and biology at the intermediate and senior levels. Ms. Tremblay’s accomplishments include implementing the technology integration strategy, co-teaching and co-objectification in literacy and numeracy, and support and security plans. Her leadership skills have often been on display in school team meetings, where she was the board representative, and in action plans that she implemented to enhance the school environment through the “Ron Clark” principles.

Given her experience, her community network and her leadership, the Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord is certain that Ms. Tremblay will be a remarkable principal at École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier. She will continue the work and initiatives of her predecessor, Brian Phillipow, who has been her colleague over the past years. Ms. Tremblay will begin in her new position on June 1st.

Recognized for its keen sense of innovation and openness to the world, Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord offers a French-language public education of the highest quality in thirteen elementary schools and eight secondary schools in the communities of Markstay, Noëlville, Greater Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa, Dubreuilville, Marathon, Manitouwadge and Longlac.
