New Board Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson at Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord
At its organizational Board meeting held on November 20, 2024, Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord trustees elected Ms. Francine Vaillancourt, trustee for the Greater Sudbury region, as Board Chairperson, and Ms. Anne-Marie Gélineault, trustee for the Greenstone and Thunder Bay regions, as Board Vice-Chairperson.
Ms. Francine Vaillancourt has been a Board trustee since 2018. As trustee, Ms. Vaillancourt has been Board Vice-Chairperson since 2020. Ms. Vaillancourt has played an active role on Board committees such as the Business and Facilities Committee, the Human Resources Committee, the Policy Committee, the Special Education Committee and the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Ms. Anne-Marie Gélineault has been with the Board since 2006 and was Board Chairperson for four years. As Board trustee, Mrs. Gelineault has played an active role on several Board committees such as the Business and Facilities Committee, the Policy Committee, the Audit Committee and the Education Committee.
Ms. Vaillancourt and Ms. Gélineault are delighted to be able to continue the Board’s mission to ensure a learning environment that is welcoming, forward-thinking and open to the world. “We are fully committed to strengthening the ties between schools, families and communities, and to making decisions that promote the success and well-being of all students. CS Grand Nord will continue to place students at the heart of its priorities, with a strong commitment to quality education that is equitable and accessible to all,” they concluded.

Marie, Wawa, Dubreuilville, Marathon, Manitouwadge, Longlac and Thunder Bay.
