CONSEIL SCOLAIRE DU GRAND NORD AND ITS TEACHING STAFF RATIFY A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

The Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord has ratified a new four-year collective agreement with the Association des enseignantes et enseignants franco-ontariens de l’Ontario – Local 57 – Nord-Ouest publique.
According to Board Chair, Anne-Marie Gélineault, “I’m very pleased with this agreement, as it allows CS Grand Nord to continue working closely with the members of its teaching staff to offer the students entrusted to its care an education of incomparable quality. The Board recognizes that the work done by teachers is a major undertaking, and it is by working in partnership with them that we contribute to the excellence of French-language public education.
According to Director of Education Sébastien Fontaine, “it’s by working in concert with our teaching staff that we are able to deliver a full range of programs and services and enhance student development so that they can reach their full potential. This agreement reflects our recognition of their work and our determination to defend their interests.
Over the next four years, teaching staff will benefit, among other things, from better working conditions. The collective agreement will take place from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2026.

Marie, Wawa, Dubreuilville, Marathon, Manitouwadge, Longlac and Thunder Bay.
