Bike to School Week : honours for École publique Hélène-Gravel
École publique Hélène-Gravel receives top honours in the City of Greater Sudbury’s ”Bike to School Week” challenge during Celebrate Bike Month.
This challenge, launched to all local schools in Sudbury, was designed to encourage a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. During the week, the City of Greater Sudbury encouraged students and staff from local schools to bike or scooter to school as many days they could, promoting active commuting habits and environmentally-friendly, health-promoting means of transportation.
This year, École publique Hélène-Gravel distinguished itself by registering the highest number of active trips, with a total of nearly 140! This exceptional performance is a testimony of the school’s commitment to encouraging active living among its school community.
In recognition of this achievement, a trophy was presented to École publique Hélène-Gravel to celebrate its well-deserved victory. Every active trip on foot, bike, scooter or wheels contributed to this collective success.
Recognized for its keen sense of innovation and openness to the world, Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord offers a French-language public education of the highest quality in fifteen elementary schools and eight secondary schools in the communities of Markstay, Noëlville, Greater Sudbury, Blind River, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa, Dubreuilville, Marathon, Manitouwadge, Longlac and Thunder Bay.
